Another #TEAM KEVIN has formed and will be running the TCS New York City Marathon on Sunday, November 1, 2015. We will be highlighting each member of the team. First up, Jill Bartolini- Hutchinson: https://www.crowdrise.com/ElixirFundNYC2015/fundraiser/jillianhutchinson

The New York City (NYC) Marathon is the marathon of All Marathons that every marathoner aspires to run. I started running Marathons because one of my best friends, Nancy Cimmino motivated and inspired me to do so with her 10 years ago. Last year we got the opportunity to run a Marathon in Kenya together to raise money and awareness for the African wildlife, schools for the children and water systems for the farmers. I included a photo of her and myself the morning of the Kenya marathon (I am number 212). This year, I have been given the opportunity to run the NYC Marathon by Meg McQuarrie.

My name is Jill Hutchinson. I grew up with Meg, her brother Kevin and her family in West Windsor, NJ. It is great town and was a wonderful community to grow up in. When I heard about Kevin’s sister Meg, starting an organization in memory of her brother and to help to reach one of his life goals; to help and support other cancer patients, I was beyond impressed. She seemed determined to make something good out of an extremely sad situation in her, her brother’s and family’s life. That is what I believe is a good but hard choice to make when life “throws” a very bad and sometimes beyond difficult situation at you. Meg’s brother Kevin was one of those people who was born with such a positive energy and light it could not help but radiate visibly all around him. He was full of warmth, compassion, kindness, goodness and insightfulness. He made a positive difference in the world every day of his life. The Elixir Fund has helped and supported many cancer patients and their caregivers. I am honored and thrilled to be running the NYC Marathon to help raise money for this incredible organization.

In addition, I am running in memory of other family members and friends whose physical lives were also cut short by cancer and who were amazing individuals who influenced all of us in their lives in such a positive way as well:   My two grandfathers, Timothy Daly and AlfredNatalino Bartolini, my best friend Lisa McNair Woodbury and my brother in law William Bowie IV. We love and miss all of you very much! Your spirit lives on in all of us!
