Tuesday, December 1, 2015 is #GivingTuesday. A four year old tradition that follows on the heels of Black Friday Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday is a kick-off to a season of giving. “It celebrates and supports giving and philanthropy.”

This year, rather than using #GivingTuesday the beginning of our end-of-year fundraising campaign; we would like to spread the word and sentiment behind the Elixir Fund Registry, and invite you to join us.

You can participate: Do something kind for someone who is affected by cancer or other chronic illness, either as a patient or caregiver.  Some ideas:

*Give a gift certificate to a local restaurant that delivers, a grocery store, or for gas.
*If he or she has children, offer to babysit or organize a play date.
*Offer to rake leaves, cut the grass, or even just take his or her garbage out.

If you don’t know anyone who has a chronic illness, give back in your community, at your children’s school, or at the hospital. It could be as simple as a blood donation or volunteering at a soup kitchen.

Make it social and spread the word: Take a picture related to your good deed and share it on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram. Be sure to include #elixirfund #givingtuesday, or if you would like, #teamKevin. If you would prefer, you  may also send us your photos for us to share on our Facebook and twitter pages.

We look forward to having you join us and to seeing your photos.
