November 5, 2017 was a bit rainy in New York, but TEAM ELIXIR came to conquer the 5 boroughs, and they did. It was an incredible day for each of our runners for their own reasons. Our thanks to the team for their hours of training and all of their fundraising. To date, they have raised over $15,800 in support of the Elixir Fund. You can still support their efforts if you would like. Visit their fundraising page https://www.crowdrise.com/elixirfundnyc2017/fundraiser/elixirfund. Read on for more information about our team members.

Brother and Sister duo Brian Cross and Shannon Moore make up “TEAM JACK.” Shannon ran for the Elixir Fund in the 2012 Boston Marathon and we have been trying to get her back for the TCS New York City Marathon ever since. Shannon and her dad Jack were regulars at our west coast events and this year, the race became even more personal for Shannon as her dad’s cancer recurred. Not only did Shannon decide to run the race, but her brother Brian decided to join her and run his first marathon. They did so in honor of Jack.

Jason Reilly, owner of The MAX Challenge in East Windsor, NJ has been working with the Elixir Fund for the last two years. The MAX has made us the beneficiary of their Day of Giving. This year, he decided to take it one step farther and run for us. We are so glad that he did.

We first introduced to our Myriam Oliver when we gave her a “comfort kit” back in 2010. Myriam has kept up to date with the Elixir Fund ever since and decided last year that she would like to run at least one more marathon. She decided to do so in support of the Elixir Fund.

Kurt Heinrich and our Executive Director Meg McQuarrie ran their 2nd and 3rd marathons respectively. Each experience is unique and this one was for sure.

If you are inspired and would like to run a marathon, participate in a triathlon, or any other race on behalf of the Elixir Fund, we would love it and are here to support you. Please contact us for more information.
