  In Memory of Judi Potter

Judi Potter, dear friend and part of the Elixir family, passed away on December 12, 2006. Throughout her treatment, Judi inspired us with her tenacity, her sense of humor, and her love of her family. She will be missed, but we will carry her spirit in our hearts always.


Judith Ann Abbie Potter Born April 2nd, 1935 as the fifth of eight children to Arnold and Alice Petersen in Denison Iowa and passed away on December 12, 2006 at her home in Huntington Beach, California.

Judi, as she liked to be called, was married in 1954 to Gary D. Potter who were both 19, in Long Beach, California. She began working at the May Co. as a sale associate, then a waitress at Mary Lou's Cafe. Judi worked at Long Beach Credit Union as a file clerk until she was promoted to department manager. In 1980 she worked with her husband at G.P. Building Enterprises Inc., their development company in Huntington Beach, until her retirement in 1995.

Judi is survived by her husband of 52 years Gary D. Potter, two children Gary W. Potter of West Hollywood CA. and Teri A. Ross, her husband Vincent Ross and two grandchildren Emmett and Kai Ross of Stanton; two sisters, Carol Maltsberger and Janice Wachowiak of Anaheim, many nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends too numerous to mention.

Judi found enjoyment in earlier years on The Colorado River camping with family and friends. Then raising and racing thoroughbred horses at the three main Southern California Racing tracks, with Bingo and gardening in the latter years.

Honoring her wishes there will be no formal funeral services, however a private celebration of Judi's life will be held at her home and ashes scattered later. In lieu of flowers, she asked that you remember those still battling cancer and give to a charity that is near and dear to her heart www.elixirfund.org -The Elixir Fund, P.O.
