In
December, Meg McQuarrie, Executive Director of the Elixir Fund,
delivered the first set of DVD players and movies and CDs to the
Todd Cancer Institute's Ambulatory Infusion Center (AIC), the
outpatient treatment center, at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center.
Those undergoing treatment that day were very excited and some
even asked to be set up with DVD players and a movies right away.
This donation is just the beginning of the Elixir Fund's pilot
project with the Todd Cancer Institute. We are working on developing
a massage program, providing yoga classes and beauty days, as
well as providing more DVD players. If you would like to find
out more about the project and how you may help, please contact
us (562) 856-5333 or email contact@elixirfund.org.
Our thanks again to the patients, caregivers, and staff at the
Todd Cancer Institute and Miller Children's hospital for hosting
our pilot project.
