We are so excited to have TEAM KEVIN reuniting with new member to take on the Panasonic New York City Triathlon on behalf of the Elixir Fund. We will be profiling each member of the team in the months leading up to the race on July 19, 2015.

Our first installment is from Jill McConnell. You can support Jill and TEAM KEVIN by visiting their Crowdrise fundraising page

Hi, I am Jill McConnell (that’s me on the left with the awesome Susan Clifford, another member of Team Kevin) and I am so proud to be supporting the Elixir Fund!

Why I tri for Team Kevin?? Some times in life you get to do some pretty awesome things with some pretty awesome people. Team Kevin is just one of those things. I was lucky enough to grow up in a fantastic community with some amazing people. One of those people was Kevin McQuarrie. Kevin is the inspiration behind Team Kevin and the reason the Elixir Fund exists. He was fun, adventurous, positive, creative and caring. I was lucky to count him as a friend. Some of those other awesome people join me on Team Kevin, we have rallied in our middle age to become athletes again, reborn in some way. We aren’t here to break any records, but we are here to make our lives better and healthier and have some fun!

Supporting the Elixir Fund via Team Kevin is especially rewarding because Team Kevin is making a tremendous impact on Elixir’s bottom line. Team Kevin’s efforts last year were one of Elixir’s most successful fundraisers. The money we are raising is making a real difference in terms of allowing Elixir to expand its services. I love that Team Kevin not only allows me to better my own life and welfare, but I am also helps make a difference in the lives of Elixir’s clientele. Win/Win!!

Training is just gearing up; race day will be here before I know it. I can’t tell you how many times I think of Kevin as I prepare and how I know he would get such a kick out of this whole thing. I am looking forward to a great day in NYC, racing with some dear friends (old and new), and helping Elixir share its’ magic with those in need.

Go Team Kevin!!
