Who We Are

The Elixir Fund is dedicated to improving the comfort and care of cancer patients and their caregivers. We are looking for someone to help us finish and deploy a web-based app that will allow those impacted not only by cancer, but anyone with a care need, to register for gift certificates for the support items and services they need such as meals, transportation, housekeeping, child care, pet care and more.

 

Job Summary

We are looking for someone to work collaboratively to get our current project launched. We need someone who is responsive and willing to meet regularly to provide status updates. This is an excellent opportunity to gain some skills through a project that will provide much need support to the community.

 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Some knowledge and preferably some experience building user interfaces with a component-based architecture, preferably using Vue.js
  • A passion for user experience with knowledge of modern UX best practices
  • A solid understanding of JavaScript, including the latest emerging standards
  • Understanding of and preferably some experience using git
  • Good attention to detail

 

The skills we are hoping (looking) for

  • Hands-on experience using Vue.js
  • A basic understanding of JSON Schema
  • Knowledge of web security best practices
  • Passion for simplicity and clean code
  • An easy-going, but hard-working approach with an ongoing interest in learning

Nice to have

  • Experience or some knowledge of Quasar Framework

What’s the Deal?

While we are a small nonprofit with limited funds, we are passionate about this project and would like to negotiate a stipend. This is a fantastic opportunity for a new developer looking to gain experience while working on an interesting and meaningful project with a mission driven organization.
